There are many animals at shelters who are simply waiting for someone to adopt them. However, some animals take longer than others to find their forever homes.
Unfortunately, many animal species have to wait years to get their permanent homes...and start to worry if they will ever leave. But no matter how old a dog is or how long they've been at the shelter, they all deserve to be happy.
One shelter is looking for a new home for one of its oldest dogs... She uses a single heartbreaking shot to convey her entire experience.
Ginger is a Labrador mix living in Osage Beach, Missouri near Lake Ozark. She is a great dog and loves to play... Unfortunately, no one has taken her home.
She has been at the Dogwood Animal Shelter for over eight years, sitting in a crate while other dogs are adopted. But the shelter hopes that someone will have a chance with Ginger after seeing how long she's been waiting:

Ginger may be the only pet in the house, but if not, she's just a good dog looking for a home. She will forever be grateful to you for giving her the "second chance" she's been waiting for.
